The Horoscope Hub is a plain reference to the vocabulary of astrology. It defines terms, records where practice disagrees with itself, and says so when a question has no settled answer. It does not publish horoscopes, forecasts or readings, and it has no opinion on whether any of this works.

A
- Ascendant
- The degree of the ecliptic rising on the eastern horizon at a given moment and place; the cusp of the first house in most house systems.
- Aspects
- Angular relationships between two points in a chart, measured in degrees of ecliptic longitude.
D
- Decans
- Ten-degree subdivisions of a zodiacal sign, three to each sign, with rulerships assigned by two competing schemes.
E
- Elements and modalities
- Two independent classifications that between them assign each of the twelve signs a unique pair.
H
- Houses
- Twelve divisions of the local sky, distinct from the twelve signs, produced by any of several competing calculation methods.
L
- Luminaries and planets
- The bodies used in chart interpretation, their traditional and modern rulerships, and the boundaries of the standard set.
R
- Retrograde motion
- The apparent backward movement of a planet against the fixed stars, an effect of relative orbital velocity.
S
- Sidereal and tropical zodiacs
- Two different definitions of where the zodiac begins, currently separated by about 24 degrees.
- Sun signs
- The zodiacal sign occupied by the Sun at birth; the basis of popular horoscope columns.

- Transits and progressions
- Two methods of relating later planetary positions to a natal chart, one observational and one symbolic.
